On the 8th of October, with a majestic backdrop of a sunny Sydney harbour, AC3 and Hemisphere Technologies hosted a Lunch and Learn at Kingsley’s Woolloomoolloo.
Signature flashing green alien glasses broke the ice as David Abouhaidar (Director at AC3) opened the discussion around tiered security solutions.
Whilst a strong understanding of the importance of tiered security solutions was highlighted, a list of concerns were also raised. A lack of funding and priority is still the case in most organisations. Many teams are reluctantly managing vulnerabilities with endpoint security and firewalls.
Enjoying Sydney’s finest Surf and Turf, Craig Katz (National Sales Manager at Hemisphere Technologies) covered the support and solutions Hemisphere Technologies can provide. The importance highlighted privileged access and vulnerability management beyond just the sale of a product.
Ron Gange (Presales Engineer, and Security Analyst at Hemisphere Technologies) presented on the SIEM product of the day AlienVault explaining the importance of monitoring, correlating and reporting on a network’s activity. Also discussed were the current threats hitting the markets big names and possibilities in avoiding such attacks with flagged incidents from a SIEM Tool like AlienVault.
Collectively digesting the days information over cheese platters and sticky date pudding, the event came to a close, however not before partaking in a bit of fun and taking a few snaps with the Alien Masks.
Finally a congratulations to Graeme Murphy, Systems and Network Manager from Barker College who won from the business card draw an HP Stream 7 donated by AC3.
An informative and enjoyable day had by all.
